'Watching The Coast', has been one of my favourite pieces (to date), to create. Each element was taken from several different locations around the Cornish coast. Back in 2019 we had family staying from Australia so it was the perfect opportunity to explore like a tourist. As I went through and edited the images I wanted for this piece I smiled as the invoked happy memories, like the seagull in this image insisted on walking all the way down a set of steps, at St Michaels Mount, in front me and just wouldn't move. At the end of the steps he flapped up on a rock and let me spend a good five minutes getting just the shot I wanted, I didn't even have to pay him in crumbs. This is short snippet of one stage in pulling each element for the final piece.
